It’s getting late and crunch time is setting in
Feeling the rush, the push of needing and wanting to have something profound drop in
But more than simply wanting to be a channel for the divine words of inspiration for you— I am selfish.
I selfishly just want to drop into my flow zone
I wanna lose myself
I want the music to wash over me where I lose all concept of time and space
Drop into deep head space where there is no time
Not a care in the world
Feels like an escape from the world
An escape from my head
Which nowadays is a better place to reside
But there are still those voices that creep in
You know what I’m talking about
When I get really super honest with myself I recognize and accept all parts of me
Because there are some nasty parts
There are places within myself that I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy
But truth is… they have it too.
I believe we all do, there are just some people who are more willing to share about it
No one is immune to pain, no one doesn’t have something that they struggle with
It’s truly an act of courage when I see people opening up
Isn’t that the definition of being a leader? Leading by example.
At least it should be nowadays
We don’t need more dictators, preachers, or people who stand up and blindly tell people what to do
WE’RE FUCKING SICK OF THE HYPOCRITES!!
The people who preach the most are really the ones who have their own demons
Having been in the coaching industry for many years now
What I realized was that EVERYONE is fucked up in some way
I have worked with tons of people who are actively fighting with their own struggles in the very area that they are supposed to be an “expert” at
How’s that for irony?
I personally was horrified when I found out that there are some people out there who are not walking their talk
I falsely put these people up on a pedestal when now I realize they are no better than me
They are just people who are struggling to find meaning out of their pain
Wanting to find a purpose greater than themselves
WIth good intentions, teaching others what they so blindly cannot follow
Their own instructions falling on their own deaf ears
I pray for these people
I coached these people for years
And to be honest, I see parts of myself in them when I hold back those things that I just don’t want to share
I discovered there is a whole other world that so many of us try to hide so well from the outside
What are we so afraid of?
We all have our own demons.
We all struggle in our own ways.
It is the nature of humankind, and it is ridiculous that we believe that the we should be “perfect”
The “American Dream” is just something they sold to us anyways
It’s not real.
The only thing that is real is what is in our own mind and how we define our own success and happiness
So why do you care so much about what anyone else thinks about you?
If you just focus on you doing you— you’ll be much happier.
At least that’s what I’ve found.
I do love myself and accept myself exactly as I am
And because I do— I am able to be open and vulnerable about my struggles.
I was just sharing with a client the other day what it means to be a leader.
I said, “Being a leader doesn’t mean that we don’t have struggles. It’s how we choose to navigate them and share how we go through them with others that matters.”
Leading by example is really the only thing that I believe in nowadays.
I don’t care what someone is saying if their actions don’t match up.
They can talk a lot of smack but behind the curtains? I don’t know who’s really telling the truth or not, unless they pull back the curtains and reveal to us what it’s really like
There is no one who is perfect
Perfection doesn’t even exist
Perfection is just an idea that we have in our heads about “how we think it should be”
But really? There is no such thing
So why not let go of all your expectations now
And accept who the fuck you are, now
The only way you can change your life is by radically accepting where you are at today and being honest with yourself and others about your life.
And then do what the fuck you say you want to do.
This is what it means to be a true leader— to lead yourself first.
It is time for you to wake up and create your dream life now!
That is exactly why we’re are here, for you to realize who you are and what you came here to do. You are meant for greatness!!
